Those of you who know me know that I have been talking about the baby wipe epidemic for the last couple of years. You have seen how bad they are. As far as I’m concerned, baby wipes and drains should never meet. Don’t flush them! In New York City, “flushable” wipes have caused a problem on a, well, New York scale.
A recent New York Times story detailed the woes attributed to baby wipes and drains.
Some of the products are branded as “flushable” — a characterization contested by wastewater officials and plaintiffs bringing class-action lawsuits against wipes manufacturers for upending their plumbing.
